Crater Lake

This scene was my first attempt at realism. I've seen pictures of Crater Lake National Park, and they never fail to capture my imagination. So, I tried to create something similar. This is what came out. I really like how this looks, and even though it isn't perfectly real, it is much more realistic than the previous two images. It's just little things that I enjoy about this image: the way the waves look, the haze in the distance, the clouds. Oh yeah, there is another cool thing I like about this one...If you look at the shaddows in the foreground, it almost looks like the shaddow of a palm frond, as if the viewer is standing under a palm tree...That was totally unintended and surprised me the first time I really looked at the final rendering.
