The purpose of this page is to define/expla
in an acronym that shows up often in my writings. It is an acronym coined by Double Aught Software and copyrighted by Bungie Software in its popular series of games known as Marathon. I in no way take credit for coming up with this. I do not use it in any profitable way. It simply describes a state of being that I often find that I exhibit.
Despair
Rage
Envy
Anger
Melancholia
As defined by Double Aught, these are the stages of rampancy in an Artificial Intelligence. As used by me, it tends to define the way I feel in certain circumstances. It is a series of stages of emotion. When something goes wrong, the first thing to feel is Despair that it did, then Rage that it did, Envy for whoever it worked out for, Anger at yourself for feeling the previous three, and finally Melancholia, where you recede into yourself and give up.
